Mid Week Coaching Group Lessons
We run coaching sessions five days a week and there is no limit as to how many sessions you can do. An ideal scenario for progression is for children to attend one or two technical sessions during the week and join in with our Super Saturdays competitions at the weekends. This means that the coaching staff will have more opportunity to develop your child and to give them the positive help they need to make them better sports people and tennis players.
During these mid week group lessons our team of coaches will work on a player's basic grips, swing shapes and footwork to help them learn the basic strokes of the game - serve, return of serve, forehand and backhand ground stroke and volleys.
Our aim is to create mini players that look and play just like the professionals by the time they move out of mini tennis.

Super Saturday
Competing at Mini Red is more about having fun, learning to score, what the lines on a court mean and how to play the game i.e. rally! We know kids love to compete, so at Orange and Green, play is a bit more formal, but we like to keep the emphasis on FUN.
We actively encourage participation in team events at Kingsley, so that players at all levels have the chance to be a winner. The event organisers will help promote good sportsmanship and how to play fairly on the court. We want to let children compete, but in an environment that is positive and fun and where they can develop their skills safely over time, without being put off the game of tennis. After all, it takes over 10,000 hours of practice & competition to make a professional tennis player!!!!!
If you'd like to get your child involved in our competitions, improve their rating and have a go at competitive tennis without the stress.

Performance
As part of our coaching programme and commitment to the LTA, the club runs several higher performance sessions through the week for children who have gained and improved their LTA rating by entering tournaments and competing regularly at events suited to their level of tennis. These players attend coaching sessions through the week and come on the weekend to our excellent Super Saturdays competitions. They are expected to attend LTA days and to enter a minimum number of matches to gain them experience of internal and external competitions, giving them a rounded tennis experience of quality coaching, compounded by tournament experience.
Competition
We run various events within the club and on behalf of the LTA, which allows kids here to compete in a proper way against other children from other clubs and centres. Our coaches are keen to let children have a go, but only when we feel that they are ready for the challenge, it's not fair if the kids are overwhelmed by the experience, both winning and losing matches is a vital part of them becoming a tennis player and person and we want it to be an experience that they want to do again and again...
